Kara and Michael are very cool people and we are honored and excited that they chose us to document their wedding. They are also wedding photographers. Now this can be a really cool set up or a complete nightmare. Wedding photographers have seen it all. They know exactly what they want because they have seen everything a billion times. They know what goes into making the images as well, so they can either try to control every situation or they can be perfect subjects. Well, these guys took being on the other side of the camera extremely well. They gave us full creative control (which you know we love) and we had a blast. We hope they did, too. It sure seemed like it. We could have shot with them for a week and not gotten tired of it.
When you get to the cake, remember that it is hand made and that the dog actually ate the first version the night before the wedding! She was still decorating it as Kara was getting ready that morning. I can’t believe how cool it turned out! Also, a whole bunch of calves were born the night before and the morning of the wedding. I mean, like 8 or 9 of them or something ridiculous. So the farm was a flurry of activity in every direction. Everyone was sending cheerful greetings as they rushed about their business. It was fun, friendly and very different from most of the weddings we cover.
The family loved to tell the story of the mirror that every bride in the family has had their photo (front and back) taken in front of. Every time we would walk in the room, someone would request that we take that photo. Rather than explain that it was already done, we would take it again. Hey! Why not? It was a great mirror and we like to make families happy.
Enough blah blah blah and on to the photos! If you click on the first one it will enlarge and you can look at them one by one by using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

What a fun couple and what beautiful photos and ceremony!
